| PRONOUNCEMENT |
| The Pronouncement as husband and wife can be much more than the traditionally simple "I now prounounce you husband and wife." Below are some ideas for pronounements that hold more meaning. |
GROOM and BRIDE, in as much as you have each pledged to each other your lifelong commitment, love and devotion, with the authority vested in me by the State of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. GROOM, you may kiss your Bride! Because you two came here today intending to marry. Because you joined hands and made solemn vows, and exchanged rings to remind you of those vows, and you are now joined as partners in mutual love and respect: according to the powers vested in me by the State of California, and the highest power of the land and the sea; I pronounce that your wedding vows are sealed and you may henceforth be known to all as husband and wife. Forasmuch as you, BRIDE and you, GROOM, have openly declared your wishes to be united in marriage, and in the presence of these witnesses have pledged love to each other, and have confirmed the same by joining hands, exchanging rings and declaring your vows, I as a Reverend and legally authorized to do pronounce that you are now husband and wife. As kisses are messengers of love, please kiss now and let soul meet soul on each other’s lips. And now in as much as you, GROOM and BRIDE, commit to one another and have signified this by the exchanging of vows and the giving and receiving of rings, we recognize, congratulate and celebrate your marriage. I am pleased to say that, in keeping with the laws of the state of California and the eyes of all those who are here as witnesses, the two of you are officially married. Your lives as husband and wife have begun... start your journey with a kiss! |

By these acts you have become husband and wife. According to the laws of the state of California andt he authority vested in me, I hereby pronounce that you are husband and wife. You may seal your promise with a kiss. GROOM and BRIDE, although I'm officiating here today, it is not truly in my power to sanctify, legitimize or bless your relationship in any way, because the two of you have already done that in your hearts. So, by joining hands right now and looking into each other's eyes, let it be known that you are joined, body and soul in this lifetime, and that this bond is sacred and eternal. And now that you have stood before me and exchanged these rings and these vows, and have agreed to be married according to the laws of the state of California, it gives me gives me great pleasure to pronounce that you are husband and wife. BRIDE and GROOM , you have proclaimed your commitment to each other, and have symbolized the eternal strength and depth of your connection by the exchanging of wedding vows and wedding rings. As you have willingly entered into a legal contract confirmed by the State of California, I am happy to pronounce you married. As the left hand to the right, may you be forever at one... in caste and clan, in home and heritage, at fireside and in council, sharing all things at home and abroad, in love and in loyalty, now and for all time to come. May you be joined in heart as in law. In token, I bid you exchange a kiss. |
